REMEDIAL / DEEP TISSUE:

Sports & Remedial

This type of massage offers therapeutic deep tissue treatment tailored to your specific needs.  The aim is to reduce aches and pain, often due to muscle spasm, and thus improve mobility.  A remedial treatment usually consists of the application of different soft tissue techniques combined with mobilisations.

Remedial massage is a holistic therapy; it treats the whole body, identifying and treating the cause of the disorder and not just the symptoms.

Various techniques are used in Sports & Remedial Massage, including Trigger Point Therapy and Myofascial Release.

Traditional Thai

Thai massage is a highly developed traditional and natural method of alleviating stress and pain.  It has been refined over thousands of years since the time of the Buddha and incorporates techniques from India (Yoga), China (Acupressure) and Burma.

Knowledge of the inner workings of the body is used in order to focus on circulation and pressure points involving tendons, ligaments, muscles and nerves, which allows for a deeper therapeutic treatment.

Thai massage can be performed relatively gently to generally invigorate the entire system.  More robust techniques can be employed for general therapeutic effect or to help problems in specific areas.

The treatment is carried out on the floor, with the client lying in a relaxed state on a light mattress or futon.  With Thai Massage, the client remains fully dressed but the clothing should be loose, comfortable and lightweight.

RELAXING / THERAPEUTIC:

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is a therapeutic massage using essential oils, which enter the bloodstream through the skin (or lungs) and are carried around the body where they deliver their healing benefits. Aromatherapy is one of the most popular of all complementary therapies, and one of the most pleasant ways to de-stress, therefore assisting the body’s natural ability to balance, heal and maintain itself.

Facial Massage (Flifting)

Thai Facial 'Flifting' massage helps lifting, firming, toning and increasing blood circulation.  As people grow older the natural elasticity of the skin decreases and the skin becomes susceptible to gravity, beginning to sag and wrinkle.  The Flifting massage helps pull back the loose skin in the opposite direction and giving a "face lift" effect.  It makes the skin radiant and beautiful and improves skin elasticity.  It awakens, integrates and relaxes facial muscle, whilst giving rise to a sense of calmness.

Hot Stones

The use of healing stones and the benefits of their alternating temperatures have been a part of ancient rituals and ceremonial practices for thousands of years.

The stones are basalt formed from molten volcanic rock that has been eroded over thousands of years by rivers and the sea. This molten rock contains many minerals and iron ore, which is an excellent conductor of heat. Once heated the volcanic stones transfer their thermal energy deep into the body tissue, which then stimulate micro-circulation, cell function, metabolism and tissue repair.

An intensely soothing treatment.

Swedish

Swedish Massage is a relaxing treatment involving the use of touch and manipulation of muscles to help treat the person as a whole.  It can improve general wellbeing, as well as being beneficial for a range of ailments including stress, muscle tension, insomnia and migraines.
